This is the first time an instantaneous poll has been taken using "American Idol" style voting techniques in a political campaign. Voters who saw the televised gubernatorial debate on Maine Public Broadcasting can decide which candidate was the best debater by sending a cellphone text message. 
Note: It has come to our attention that those who use U.S. Cellular and Unicel for their cell phone service do not have access to contests such as "American Idol" and this debate contest. We apologize for this situation, and will continue working to make sure all Mainers are included in every aspect of Pat's campaign.

GM and Ford are dying in part because of healthcare costs foreign competitors do not bear. If Maine were to enact its own Medicare for all, it would reduce costs, keep more health dollars in Maine, and gain an immense competitive advantage. The strongest argument against LaMarche's proposal seems to be that it is "unrealistic." It is unrealistic only as long as most of us fail to give it serious consideration."

One of the most anticipated debates of the season — the Maine Public Broadcasting Gubernatorial Debates. This is televised, live at 8:00 PM. MPBN will replay the broadcast on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 1:00 PM and again on Sunday, November 5 at 4:00 PM and 6:30 PM.
