Voters Want Solutions, Not Standard-Bearers

Two Party Scare Tactics Falling On Deaf Ears

Portland, Maine — With just 15 days until the election, the slinging of mud has taken on an even more reality show edge — The Fear Factor.

Both Baldacci and Woodcock are WRONG for the state, wrong for families, and counter-productive for our business and economic priorities.

Over the last week, the LaMarche campaign has received scores of calls and emails from irate voters, expressing their disdain for the scare tactics and desperate measures of Woodcock and Baldacci.

"This past week has re-enforced my faith in the voter — people are tired of the straight-line voting approach, which has led to failure for this state," said LaMarche. "People want creative solutions to the problems that have plagued their families and businesses under the lack of leadership in Augusta. If the Democrats and Republicans spent as much time working for Maine people as they do trying to maintain the two party system, we would not be in the sad fiscal and social shape we are in today."

Since the primary, the Democrats have been trying to scare off voters from LaMarche, saying that a vote for LaMarche was a wasted vote or that "we" will be giving the election to the Republicans.

Recently, the Republicans are trying the same tactic to respond to their disgruntled registered voters who are disinclined and disenfranchised with their party's choice of candidate. These approaches say only one thing, but say it loud and clear: neither party is representing what the people want. Both Baldacci and Woodcock are WRONG for the state, wrong for families, and counter-productive for our business and economic priorities.

This is not just good news for the LaMarche campaign — this is good news for Maine people. LaMarche and the solutions she brings to Maine are resonating and her momentum is building to a victory reminiscent of Longley in 1974 and Angus King in 1994 — and that can only mean an even greater success for Maine.

"I cannot believe that my party thinks that just because they put up a candidate that I am obliged to vote for him," stated one irate voter. "If the party wants my vote, they should have put forth a candidate that will serve my needs — not just shore up the party power base. I am tired of losing when my party wins. This year, I am voting so I win. I am voting based on my priorities, and based on those priorities, Pat LaMarche is the best candidate."
