LaMarche Applauds Husson Plan for Pharmacy School

State Should Learn From Husson's Leadership

Bangor, Maine — Pat LaMarche is thrilled but not surprised by Husson College's October 25th announcement to bring a pharmacy school to Bangor, Maine.

LaMarche has proposed Universal Healthcare and the building of a Medical, Dental and Pharmacy School in Maine throughout her campaign.

"The leadership shown by President Beardsley and the Husson Board of Trustees deserves applause," said LaMarche. "While it is a logical move for a visionary institution like Husson, it is a vital step toward the economic and educational growth of Maine. Further, it brings immediate and future job growth to its local community while putting Maine on the healthcare map regionally."

LaMarche has proposed Universal Healthcare and the building of a Medical, Dental and Pharmacy School in Maine throughout her campaign. Having met with Husson's President Beardsley, she is not surprised by the leadership and courage shown by this small and successful Bangor College.

"There are no pharmacy schools in New England, and every hospital needs more pharmacists," stated William Beardsley, Husson College president. "As Husson always does when responding to an unmet need, we seek the solution through courage and leadership and move forward in a way to provide for that need,

"President Beardsley and Husson's initiative should not take place in a vacuum. With strong new leadership, Maine will pave the road for economic growth through education and innovation," added LaMarche.
